In Iran: No credit cards, alcohol ... or urinals - Africa & Mideast- msnbc.com
Another news flash, but more of a news snippet.
So this guy, Rick Steves, got clearance to take a film crew into Iran as a tourist. Sort of a Coming to Iran theme. His article is completely one sided. I have to give the Iranian government a 'job well done' for hoodwinking this guy. Either that, or this guy is blind. In reality though, I think he just wants you to watch his show, and so he puts in things that are 'nice and neat.'
I just finished living in the gulf for a year in a country called Bahrain. It's less than 50 miles from Iran. Rick Steves, paints a picture of how great Iran would be, if we just lifted the embargoes. I am going to call him out. He is painting you a picture that isn't true. He is taking the good, and none of the bad. I agree in the comment that most people there are nice and friendly.
Reality as an American if you actually traveled there: you would be afraid of being kidnapped and you would feel uncomfortable because everyone is staring at you.
Oh Iran, such a great place. Let's go visit a country that actually has terrorists on it's payroll. Rick Steves, please stop being so one sided. I'm sorry the citizens of Iran have to suffer, but their government does this to them.

The job of a journalist is to tell it like it is, that includes the good, the bad, and the ugly..I'm glad you set this straight because I know a man who is still having nightmares from serving in Iran!
I like the new look of your blog!
BC Doan,
Glad you understand. For a split second I was sucked into this article, and I mean for a split. Then emotions rushed over me about my experience, and I was pretty astonished some of the ideas this news article was conveying.
Yeah the new look is a continuing effort for a larger scale website. I'm currently seeking syndicated content. The goal is a quasi blog/news site with the map. A sort of big picture look.
Oh, and I have added the duchess movie to my watch list.
