UPDATE: Russia Restores Gas to Ukraine

Just wanted to update my readers of the Russian drama. Sometime Tuesday the European countries dependent on Russian gas should have received their much needed gas for heating and cooking. The dispute kept thousands in eastern Europe in the cold and without warm food for a little over two weeks.

It's been 24-36 hours and we have yet to hear any complaints. I just hope any more gas disputes can wait till the summer months when people can afford to not have gas (should the Russians decide to not play nice again). In the interim, Russia is calling on Europe to devise a way to route their gas though other means, rather than through the Ukraine. I think this is a move to further alienate Ukraine from Europe and punish them for even thinking about joining NATO.

I still think Russia is overstepping their boundaries, and you can read what I think at my old post from December: Previous Post: Gas countries to create gas OPEC? Please
