What to Expect from Obama
What’s next? President elect Obama and Vice President Biden have promised a lot to you and me. Over the next four years, I will be tracking anything they have promised in a ‘policy keeper,’ if you will. It will simply be a stoplight chart for major topics, and I will add any other topics you, the reader, would like to see. This Policy Keeper will be published each month in TheBigPicToday.com’s e-magazine.
The Polices: (DOWNLOAD a PDF from President elect Obama on all of his promises/policies)
- The biggie on the worlds conscience: The US Economy
- I plan on tracking this with the GDP, per capita GDP, the Unemployment rate, and the stock markets
- Tax cut for 150 million US workers
- This promise also eliminates taxes for 10 million workers
- Includes a $4000 a year American Opportunity Tax Credit, which is for college education affordability
- $1,000 energy tax credit for families
- Universal Mortgage Credit which is mainly for people who make less than $50,000/yr
- 10% of US energy will be from renewable resources by 2012, 25% by 2020
- 5 million ‘green jobs’ by 2020
- Increase fuel economy standards 4% a year, and invest $50 billion with US auto makers on re-tooling factories to make room for hybrids
- Start taking natural gas from Alaska
- 1,000,000 plug-in hybrid cars on the road by 2015
- A $7,000 tax credit on advanced car purchases
Let me know what your big issues are. I’ll add them to the Policy Keeper.
I’ll be the first one to admit that I am republican, and yet I can’t wait to see how fast President Obama acts. Will VP Biden be able to calm down Israel, and the mid east? I’m not saying that we need to make friends with every country, but we do need help when we back out of Iraq and Afghanistan. The crime pouring out of the mid east needs to be fought by everyone. One loose border is all it takes for drugs to ruin lives all over the world, which is currently happening from Afghani poppy crop.
I predict that over the first month of Pres Obama, you will see the stock market rally. You will see the unemployment rate decrease slightly. From then on, you will see the economy react more than ever to every action the White House does. More now than ever are the markets emotionally linked to America. This happened when online trading went live and open to the working man.
TheBigPicToday.com will be starting a E-Magazine in December 08 that will provide a more formal approach to big issues. Anyone who registers with TheBigPicToday.com before February 2009 will get their first year free. After that, a low yearly price will begin.
The big picture that I would like to point out is this: Democracy has prevailed, President elect Obama is our man for at least the next four years. If it’s all hot air, we have the 2012 elections to change that, like we did on Tuesday.
More to come on the e-magazine, and the economy!
